We've Hit Another Milestone

I'm so excited about this blog post, Ryan has officially began teething! For over a year I was wondering when my baby was going to grow some teeth of his own, because at around six months or so, my mom told me that's when my brother, sister and I started to grow some teeth. Ryan's pediatrician told me that, the longer it takes for a baby to grow his/her teeth, the better it is. It's a sign that his teeth will last longer then the average toddler that grows their teeth at an early age. After that doctor's visit, I began to notice week by week, Ryan was starting to grow not only one tooth, but three to four teeth at a time.

I've already began to show him how to brush his teeth, he would use a spare toothbrush that I had laying around my bathroom. The other night after bible study, I stopped at Giant Eagle with my best friend Elizabeth and picked up his very first, and own toothbrush. It's so tiny, and has a photo of a choo choo train. I was so excited to give this to him and have Ryan use it for the first time. Here are a few photos of Ryan when I first gave him his toothbrush to open.

Another milestone that Ryan has hit, is the one that he breaks EVERYTHING he can get his little chubby hands on. My aunt and uncle went to Mexico for a couple vacation and brought me back this beautiful jewelry box that I love and have in my bathroom. It's great for storing earrings, rings, and bobby pins. Very handy in every way. I don't know how Ryan got a hold of it, but one morning I saw the seahorse's head was missing! I panic and thought that he ate it! For a whole day I would look around for the seahorse's head, and was wondering whether or not I should call the doctor to have his stomach x-ray for any foreign pieces in his stomach. Eventually I found the piece hidden in the cracks of my bathroom, I was relived and happy that my son didn't eat the seahorse. :)

The next day I went out and purchased super glue and got to work on this jewelry box, now it looks brand new, as if it was never broken to begin with. :) I tell you, being a mother, don't expect to live in a well put, glass house. Especially with a toddler, at Ryan's age I think they like to get into everything they can. Also test you, to see how far they can push you. He's also in his biting/hitting phase, he throws tantrums as if he's a grown 13 year old teenager. He stomps his feet, falls on the ground and rolls, as if his life is over. It's funny and cute, but I'm pretty sure it won't be cute at the age of eight in a public place. **Laughs Out Loud**
