He received only one shot today which was his worst. I had never seen my son acted or behave like this. Normally he's pretty good, but he was so clingy and wanted to be baby between his grandma and I. Between the doctor's visit and our errands, he took a three hour nap today before Bible study. I felt so bad for Rj that I went out and bought him a toy today. Ever since he went he played with this corn popper he has always wanted one. Being the mum that I am, I went out and bought one for him today. Big mistake! He walks around with that popper all day and it was starting to annoy me. If I only knew... LOL, It's okay, as long as my little man is happy.

Rj's 15 Months Check-Up
Today was Rj's doctor's appointment for his 15 months check up. Although he's past his 15 months mark, we are a little behind on his appointments. The doctor said he's a healthy baby boy, even if he doesn't eat much. Rj has only gained two pounds from his last check up. I swear, I think my son is the pickiest eater out there. Compared to Miss Marley he's a skinny, tiny baby. I predict that Rj is going to be tall like his father, according to the doctor's chart he's in the 90 percent tile for his height.

Family Time
Even through Elizabeth and I started our own business, I'm still blessed to have a part time job. Working part time has allowed me to be the best mother I can be with Rj and make time for church. Rj splits his time between his father and I, spending most of his time with me. When Rj is with his dad I'm busy working ten to twelve hours a day, so I can make up for days spent not working.
One of the blessings I have is having an amazing friend with an even more amazing family. As some of you may know that my best friend Elizabeth and I have been friends for more then 20 years! Her parents are like my parents, and I've learned a lot from the Heath family. They have made me realize the importance of valuing family and not the materialistic things of the world. "Love is not a feeling, but the things we do." Honestly the quote that I love and my pastor preaches about, has made me realize that my ex never loved me. If he did, he wouldn't have done all of the things he has done in the past to me, or said the things he has said.
I'm a firm believer in love, I'm also a great believer that you as a parent have to be an example to your children, in order to raise well rounded, and good adults. I enjoy different tradition and cultures, embracing other races. That's why I expose my son to so many different cultures, races and traditions. Today we had the honor of heading back to my old high school, and watch a play perform by Elizabeth's little cousin Wesley. He had the role of Malcolm X and I believe it's apart of Black History Month. The performance was cute, informative and educational. A lot of history and knowledge was portrayed in the 45 minutes it took. I loved every minute of it, and I'm pretty sure Rj and Marley did as well, since they behaved and stayed quite through out the whole play.
After the play, we all headed back to Elizabeth's mum's house for a simple lunch of hot-dogs and chips, also to just hang out and spend some time with each other. Andrew and her dad were both on vacation so we all just sat, ate and talked. You put Elizabeth, Andrew and I in a room together, it's screams trouble. At the end of the day we all had a good time, and spent quality time with each other. I thank God for my adopted family and the love we all share for on another. That's what family is about, not the things you buy, but the time spent with one another.
I know this posting will be off the beaten path, but I took Rj for his first car wash experience. I try to wash my car at lease once a week, because of all the salt and snow built up, I didn't want my car to start rusting and dirty. It didn't seem as if he was too fond of it, but at lease he didn't cry like I did when I was younger :)

Mommies On The Move
It's already March and the snow is still here, Cleveland is still cold, and it's only a matter of time before spring is here. I know I haven't been a consistent blogger due to life, but I'm honestly trying to work on it. Life as we know it has been busy, Elizabeth and I ran some errands for one of our clients and it was nice and simple. I was just happy to have both Marley and Rj with us. We didn't have to pay for a babysitter or did Elizabeth have to drive to Euclid to drop off Marley at her mum's house. It was just nice to know that you are able to watch your own child, and be able to spend time with them while you are working.
After we ran our errands we had lunch at Red Robin. I know it's not healthy but I was craving for a burger and fries. The classic, tradition American food. Our lunch had an easy start, until Marley saw balloons at the hostess stand. Of course we had to get the babies one. We got the babies and ourselves situated, that went fine. After that we ordered our meals and waited for them to come, that was great! The minute we took just our first bite of our meal... Marley started to throw the biggest tantrum I've ever seen from a one year old. She was gasping for air, crying so hard that her face turned red. I swear she was like babyzilla ready to rip the world apart. After a good ten minutes of trying to calm her down, Elizabeth and I decided to just leave. That was a perfect ending to our perfect lunch. I laughed, till this day, I still laugh.

Valentine's Day Weekend
Hey everyone!
Sorry for the delay in postings, I've been a bad blogger lately. I have so much going on with the new business, being a mom, work, school and church. A lot has happened in the past week, it's very refreshing to have this new outlook on life and starting this new business that Elizabeth and I started. We already signed our first client already for a minimum of three hours on a monthly bases, she referred our company to a few of her other friends that will be giving us a call as soon as next week. The mommies are thrilled and excited! Thank you Jesus for our first client :)
Elizabeth and I are still in the process of getting our website together and I'm so thankful to have network with a friend of mine from Atlanta, who's going to help us with our logo. As soon as we finish our logo we can get the website started. Yay! In the mean while Elizabeth and I went to the local Office Max in our area and had flyers made to post up and pass out all over the area. Which proves to be successful since we have one client now.
Of course I took some pictures in the process of our adventure, it was cold, quick and effective. The babies were some what well behaved and were very patient for the car ride around town.
Saturday morning was our Envision group meeting at Denny's for breakfast. Envision is an all women group where we mentor young girls into young ladies. I had the honor of hearing some of the poems that the girls wrote, and trust me they have a lot of talent. To hear how one feels and have them put it into words was just an honor for them to share their feelings with with everyone.
Sunday was Valentine's Day of course. I swear I stayed up all night trying to get my family's gift as well as the goody bags for the children at church together. I also got up extra early to bake cupcakes for the Single Christian's meeting after church. Too bad I had to work after church, because I was exhausted, and wanted to just crawl into bed with my little man and just cuddled. Believe me he's starting to be a little cuddle bear, he loves to give me hugs, and tight ones. The ones I've been waiting for since he was born, just to have my son hug me like he means it. I wish I can have a hug like that every five minutes. I'm so proud of my son and who he's become, I'm so thankful for the beautiful blessing God has given me. Despite of who his father is, I will never change the fact that my ex and I created this amazing little boy. He can block me and try to eliminate me out of his life, but as long as he loves his son, he has to communicate and accept that I'm too apart of my son's life.
The morning of Valentine's Day I had set up this cute little display of all the items I got for Rj, that is Valentine's related. He loved it! It was an all around great Valentine's Day spent with my son and the people I care about the most.

The Best Friends & Church Family Ever!
This has been a very unorganized and eventful week. I have a planner, and I carry it around with me at all times, but I barely use it because I think that in my perfect world I can remember everything... Wrong! This week coming up my goal to focus on is time management and organization. This shall be fun I think, I enjoy cleaning and organizing so we will see where this takes me.
It has been a busy week starting with a Tuesday morning breakfast with my best friend and her mom, the pastor's wife. We had a delicious breakfast at Waffle House and I must say that I'm a big fan of their waffles. I usually get one waffle with strawberry topping and whip cream. It was nice to just have a relaxing morning and discuss ideas and plans for our church. I'm really excited for some of the activities that will be taking place this year at New Praise.
Ryan and Marley of course were like night a day. Marley of course was causing a scene and screaming. Even though I thought it was cute, I'm pretty sure Elizabeth just thinks her little girl is crazy LOL. The funny part was when a patron who was dining with his daughter came over and said to us that Marley was just a little wild one, while my son Ryan just sat there like a little good boy. I laughed, because that's not true. He beats me, secretly, I swear I have bruises to prove it... Just Kidding. I love my babies, both of them, they are two peas in a pod and they bring smiles to Elizabeth and I everyday.
Also we've been planning and getting together our marketing material for our business, so we are planning to launch this week. Both Elizabeth and I are pretty excited and I can't wait to get started. I know we won't have that many clients at first, but trust me, both Elizabeth and I will both be happy with one to start off with. Next weekend is when we will be opening our business accounts and get our paper work together for the banks approval for our account. It's going to be a hectic week, but it's all apart of the process to be a legit business.
Yesterday was lunch at California Pizza Kitchen, BTW everything on their menu looked so good! Elizabeth and I meet up with a few of our grammar school friends, who I just adore! Nichelle and Hollis honestly were such a blast to hang out with, we laughed at everything, from my son's booger story, to Hollis paying a random women to have his baby. Just pure fun, and a good time. I hope we have the chance to do it again soon.
This week as I look back, I thank God for my many blessings, the finances to take care of my son and I, and still have money left over to go out. My friends that I've known for years and years, and I hope that we rekindle our friendship to how it was 20 years ago. I love the new found family I have within my church, and the family that I have now. Even though my family and I are separated due to religious beliefs. They still love me and allow me to raise my son how I want to, and let me be me. I can't for anything better than that. This week has been a fantastic week, from church events, to our business, and in happiness in my personal life. God is good, and I thank him.
